ALCC's STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. Bible

We believe that God speaks to us through the Bible, the sixty-six Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. Being God-breathed they are fully trustworthy for teaching, and for reproof in righteousness. (Romans 10:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:21).

2. God

We believe that there is only one God, the creator of all things, and has revealed Himself to be eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matt 28:19; 1 Pet 1:2; 1 Jn 5:7).

3. Jesus Christ

God sent his Son Jesus Christ into this world to save and restore humanity to their original purpose. Jesus was the Word in the beginning that became flesh and dwelt among mankind. Whoever receives Him and believes in His name, He gives the right to become children of God and eternal life. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, in His death for sinners, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension into heaven, and in His return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 20-25; 16:18; Mark 15; Luke 24; John 1:1-14; 3:16; Acts 1:9,10; 2:22; 10:38; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 51-54.
2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15).

4. Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth as well as the Counsellor, who resides in all believers and empowers them to overcome this world, granting them various gifts to equip believers for the work of ministry to build up the body of Christ. (John 14; Ephesians 4:11-12).

5. Trinity

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; Father,
Son and the Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption (Matt 28:19; 1 Pet 1:2; 1 Jn 5:7).

6. Man

God the Father is the source of all that is good. He created the heavens and the earth and all that exists in them. He created male and female in His image to live in fellowship with Him. However, tempted by Satan, the first man and woman disobeyed God. As a result, sin enters into this world causing death to humanity. (Genesis 1:1-27; 3:1-13; Romans 3:23; 5:12-19)

7. The Church

We believe in the universal church; a living spiritual body of Christ is the Head and that all regenerated persons are members.
We believe in the local Church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ,
Scripturally baptized (immersion), on a credible profession of faith, and associated for
worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local
church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
(Ephesians 5:20-32; Ephesians 1:22; Matthew 28:19; I Timothy 3:1-113).

8. Salvation

We believe that Salvation is wholly of God by Grace, made free to all by the Gospel, received by repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This includes regeneration, pardon and forgiveness of sins through justification, adoption and sanctification through the Holy Spirit. And also, the true believer is eternally secure and cannot be lost. (Jn 1:12; 3:16; 10:27-31; Romans 5:1-9; 8:35-39; Eph 1:3; 2:8-10; 1 Jn 5:11-13).

9. Rapture

We believe that the dead in Messiah shall rise first and those who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. In the twinkling of an eye, we all will be changed to the glorified bodies to enjoy eternal blessedness in the presence of the Lord. Unbelievers will also be raised bodily to suffer the penalty of eternal destruction. (1 Corinthians 15:51-58; Thessalonian 4:16-17; 2 Thessalonian 1:9; Titus 2:13).

10. Satan

Satan is the adversary of God; an unclean spirit and god of this world, author of all the powers of darkness and is destined to the judgment of an eternal justice in the Lake of Fire. (Isaiah 14:12-17; Matthew 4:1-11; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:14, 15).
